Welp, I make my return to reviews after an unplanned hiatus. Spent the last few weeks swamped by other things but Grimm asked to me do a few this week so I’m making the time!
Potzee recently released a new mixtape and named is “Cakin’.” In case you aren’t up on what the kids are saying, “cakin’” is basically spending time, in person or in other forms, with a current of prospective significant other.

With that said, I’m sure you can just about guess the direction of this tape. Potzee releases a collection of songs for/about women. Being a woman you’d think I’d be happy but I favor harder rap generally. The songs are cool but I could tell many of them were older throw away type tracks. Many even seem uninspired. I don’t really consider Potzee a heart throb so a full tape about the good, bad, and in between of women isn’t my ideal usage of time.
He has a long list of features on the project. Appearances from Ebony Eyez, Bradd Young, Lil’ St. Louis, Youvee, and many other Derrty Ent./UCME affiliates.
Not much more to say about it really. Rating it 3/5.
